A Day of Delights for our Little Frozen Fan...
We had a delighted little girl on Wednesday... she was utterly thrilled with all her presents (there was a definite Frozen theme!) and spent the day on cloud nine! It was such a joy to see her little face so happily overwhelmed by the attention and love she received.
I still cannot believe she is two. And yet even in this last week, she seems to have grown up so very much.
The girls woke early. We opened presents before Papa bombed out the door to work... And the early start meant we had a little bit of time to play with them before the school run...
Of course, no birthday in our household would be complete without a birthday waffle breakfast. It's one of the girls absolute favourite breakfasts - big norwegian waffles, fresh from the waffle-maker and smothered in delicious strawberry jam. .. but we save it for special occasions... it makes for extra washing up!
We then had a fairly standard Wednesday... Bible Study at ours, school pick-up, lunch with a friend and then nap time (during which Mama ran around like a lunatic trying to get everything organized for the evening)
And then in the afternoon, the family started to arrive for dinner and playtime...
presents...
... and cake!
We rounded off the evening with some "Frozen" karaoke (microphone courtesy of Onkel Hans, Tante Jo and Ethan... thankyou!)
Two happy little ladies rolled into bed at 8pm... a full hour after their normal bedtime, which did lead to some overtired bedtime tears, but we'll choose to forget that bit...
...before Mama came downstairs and collapsed too - ready for a chilled evening catching up with the family.
I was proud of my big girl too. Its not easy when you and your little sister are into the same things, and your little sister gets a tonne of presents, and you don't. But she rose to it so well, and was genuinely happy for her little sister, and very happy to partake in any offer of sharing that Heidi wanted to give her! I'm not going to pretend there hasn't been any arguments over toys in the days that have followed...
but then again, what can you expect, I suppose...
... I am, after all, the proud owner of a three-year-old AND a two-year-old!
Oh, HELP!
Happy bday Heidi xx
