There are certain areas of parenting I always want to get better at. In different seasons, and at different times, different things will raise their heads. Something will start to niggle, I'll do a bit of research and soon enough we're shifting and changing routines and structures as a family. One area I've become convicted of and researched a lot this past year is a desire to feed this little family of mine healthy, whole and organic foods. I could write a whole blog post on that journey (and I'm sure I will at some point!) but one of the biggest challenges has been coming up with healthy, wholesome snacks that the children can have on the go.
Sometimes a blackened and bruised banana from the bottom of my handbag just doesn't seem that appetising!
And so, when the folks at "Clearly Scrumptious" got in touch to ask if we would like to try out their brand new 100% natural kids snack packs, "Scrummies", we jumped at the chance.
Needless to say, they did not disappoint!
Scrummies are a recently launched kids snack solution for those of us who want the ease of convenience, but the assurance that we are giving our children nothing but the best. The snacks have the added bonus of being vegan, gluten-, wheat- and dairy free and each 20g pack of flavoured dried cranberries and raisins counts as one of your five a day!
While our girls are avid fruit fans, our boy has been a battle on the fruit and uncooked vegetables front, and finding healthy, whole snacks for him has been a victory I have too often surrendered (as I succumb and reach for the biscuit tin). He's not even a fan of the little packs of raisins I have offered him copious times.
I do not lie when I say he devours a pack of these in 30 seconds flat!
While sharing their packs of Scrummies has not been top of my children's priority list (they are gobbled up far too quickly for that!), the lovely gang at "Clearly Scrumptious" are a lot more generous, and are offering all our readers 15% off their Scrummies orders until July 2017... how lovely is that?! All you need is to use the discount code "CCBLOG" and hop on over to their website to make the most of this lovely deal...
And even better, they are offering a lovely goody box (just like the one we received) to one of our readers! All you need to do is leave a comment below with your name, telling us what your kids/grandkids/your own current favourite healthy snack is!
If your kids are anything like mine, I can safely promise you won't regret it!

Claire they sound great! My kids would love theses as we are always out and about on the go somewhere the little packets would fit into coat or bag not weigh a lot and a lot healthier than crisps or chocolate. Jenny
ReplyDeleteYummy!! My 3 year old son loves nothing more than a carrot or pepper! But these would be much better for taking out and about!
ReplyDeleteLyndsey Riddle- my toddler currently loves dried fruit sticks, raisins and has suddenly started liking banana again! Xx
ReplyDeleteOur toddler is currently loving dried fruit sticks, raisins and has suddenly started liking bananas again!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post again, having 3 children that are allergic to most things, these healthy free from snacks sound great!
ReplyDeleteA much needed change from carrying pots of cut up fruit and veg in my bag at all times... what a time saver!
These look great and will be alot nicer to carry about then our usual cuecumber and carrot sticks in plastic boxes!! Plus something to add to the girls diet as have to stick to gluten and dairy free diet.
ReplyDeleteMy boys are loving no bake oat bars I make and freeze - current fav is choc and peanut butter, but while the are quick to make, they also disappear very quickly meaning I have to be at again. Love handy little healthy packs of goodies tucked away!
ReplyDeleteMy two love yogurt raisins and Bear Yoyos.
ReplyDeleteThese sound like they could be really good for Rhys and his tummy. Xx
ReplyDeleteWow these look yummy! My 2 year old loves a banana but I find it hard to get him to eat any other fruit, these would be great!! Xx
ReplyDeleteAnything going by the name of 'Scrummies' wouldn't take my little gang a lot of convincing to try! Rice cakes, breadsticks and veggie sticks with houmous are our staple snacks. Like you, we're also making a real effort to improve our own diets and that of the children so anything healthy and nourishing gets a big yes from me! 👍🏻
ReplyDeleteOur favourite is always fruit-which the dentist tells us off for! Apples for my eldest and strawberries for my youngest . X
ReplyDeleteMy 3 year old loves chocolate but for healthy snacks she loves blueberries, melon, strawberries and pear. Her favourite thing is peas!!! However, I don't tend to take peas out and about with me! 'Scrummies' sounds like a great healthy snack without the faff of preparation which would be great for on the go. x
ReplyDeleteSounds great, it's good to have bag friendly snacks for kids. Jesse loves his fruit snacks, mango is a real favourite at the minute!
ReplyDeleteOur favourite (at the moment!) is dried mango! Yum!
ReplyDeleteMine love most fruits, especially green apples and bananas at the moment. Both adored the Scrummies that the girls shared the other day too, and I enjoyed the two that they let me have!
ReplyDeleteMine love a mixture of fruits and veg (one kid loves raw veg and the others love fruits more so! The little two also love fruit pouches :-)
ReplyDeleteThese sound fab...my kids favourite munch is carrots...even more so when we use the spiralizer
