Our Firework Night Feast: Savouring the Season

Remember, remember the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot...
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot...

And so we made it our mission not to forget... and decided to have a little Firework Night Feast with our family to celebrate Bonfire Night...

Of course table decorations were needed, and my big girl was only to happy to help out! It's amazing what you can create with some skewers , gift ribbon and washi tape. Ava had good fun making a little "Sparkler" for everyone who was going to be at our feast. All her cutting and sticking practice at school is coming to good use!
By the time the sun set, it was time for a feast of good old Bangers and Mash... with onion gravy and a bit of veg on the side of course! Bestafar (Dave's Dad) and Nanny (My Mum) joined us and we all tucked in until the table was cleaned!
After dinner, we wrapped ourselves up - gloves, scarves, hats and wellies and headed outside for some sparkler fun... the girls were so excited - it was so lovely to see their little faces light up in wonder! When we had used up our stash of sparklers we headed back inside for hot chocolate with marshmallows and chocolate buttons. The perfect end to the perfect feast!!

  7. Oh I love the fake sparklers - that sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate. I'm afraid we rather let it go unmarked though I've got plans to take the girls to the hockey club fireworks over the weekend!
