#1000

I'm sitting here, typing away on my iPad (I spilt tea on my laptop last week... let's not go there) finding it hard to believe that I am writing my thousandth post.

Yes folks, you did read that right.

Little did I know, when I wrote that first post back in 2007, what this blog would come to mean for me, the journeys it would accompany us on, the milestones it would record, the places it would go. I remember the thrill of discovering that ten people had read my first rather lame post, the excitement of that first comment, the struggle to get my head round the technical side of things... The disbelief at my first award nomination, the shock of being shortlisted for the BIBs, the amazement as my readership grew and the first time a blogger I really admired commented on my blog, rather than vice versa.

It's been a rollercoaster journey... The constant questioning... Why am I doing this? What is its purpose? Who am I writing for? It's been my companion on many long hospital nights, and the medium of recording some of the most difficult parts of my life so far, its been the means of meeting many, many wonderful people... People who have become true friends.

I love blogging. I love writing. I love the way it's opened so many doors of opportunity for us as a family. I love the friends I've made in the blogging world. I love the friends I've made through a readership who faithfully read and comment. I love the opportunity to share my faith with people who may not otherwise hear. I love the fact that for the first time in my life, I have actually stuck at a hobby for more than a few weeks. I love the creativity. I love the way it's made me want to be a better photographer. A better writer. A better mother.

I was truly, truly clueless as to what I was letting myself in for when I wrote post number 1 eight years ago... Now I'm so excited to see where my little corner of the Internet will take us in the next 1000 posts.

Who knows, but one things for sure. I'm not planning on going anywhere anytime soon.

Thank you to all of you who have supported Clarina and her at times rather random contemplations for the last few years.

I am very grateful!
