Wanderings through Wildflowers...

"Let us dance in the sun, wearing wildflowers in our hair"
- Susan Polis Schutz -

Yesterday was a glorious day. The sun shone, the fjord glistened and called us to it. Poor Dave got hit by a sickness bug that kept him in bed all day, and by eleven o'clock the little people were climbing the walls and in need of some exercise and energy burning.

And so we stepped out the front door to this breathtaking part of the world. After eight years of coming here, that first view of our home from home still catches me in wonder.

We are so blessed to be able to come here year after year...

For these littles of ours, summer memories will be of fjord-swimming, sausage-grilling, wood-cutting, tractor-driving, fruit-picking, boat-riding and wildflower wanderings.

Yesterday was a wildflower wanderings kind of day...

Although some of us slept through the whole thing...

We ambled down the lane at a more than leisurely pace. The girls chattering away, stopping every couple of metres to pick a flower or a raspberry, me stopping every couple of metres to take another photograph. Bestefar being very patient and filling a little tub with wild fruit as he went along. It was perfect, except for the knowledge that poor Papa couldn't be with us!

We reached the bottom of the hill and wandered up to Uncle Rune's for a little rest and a chat with family (and I was given a new project... Always love a project!)

I love the light in these photos of Ava... She is still my little girl, whatever September has to say about it!

When we had had a little rest and a rice cake on the Terasse, we moseyed back up the hill for some lunch...

I breathed deep the fresh air, marvelled at God's beautiful creation...

... And thanked him for the privilege of bringing up these littles of mine. They do melt my heart sometimes.

    1. Thank you Sharon... He seemed much better last night. Appears to be one of these 24 hour sick bugs... Hoping no one else succumbs!
