It's become a yearly tradition, and one which our children look forward to each September. The night before school starts, a feast is prepared. It may just be something simple like this year's spaghetti bolognese with ice-cream for desert, but nonetheless the run up is a flurry of activity - laying the table, decorating their crowns, making place-name cards and painting pictures for the mantel. It's a little celebration of a summer full of memories, and a preparation for a brand new school year ahead.
We always gather the family... the more the merrier, all celebrating our little school starters... praying for them as they head out into the big wide world, and recounting all the fun times we've had over the summer break.
And from the oldest to the youngest, everyone gets to be part of it...
Do you have any back to school traditions?
