Eight Months... and a special milestone!

Last Friday marked a very special day for you, our little Elias boy...

Not only was it your 8 month birthday, but on that day, you had been in the world exactly 34 weeks and 6 days.

That is exactly the length of time I carried you for.


At 34 weeks and 6 days, you made a rather eventful entry into the world... it was scary, and very worrying... but you arrived safely despite all the complications and you were perfect. Teeny tiny, but perfect.

And now, here you are... eight months old - starting to sit, with three teeth and chubby thighs - a world away from that teeny tiny baby we brought home.

You are such a delight, Elias... the smiliest, happiest, bubbliest baby. You are so sweet-natured and easy going... I have absolutely revelled in the baby phase fourth time round... there is a sweet perspective that comes with the experience. You are our worst night sleeper by a long way, and yet I can honestly say I am savouring up even those middle of the night feeds. You look up at me with those huge blue eyes and throw me a coy little smile at 3am and I just can't resent it at all. You slept through one night last week, though, and it was bliss - I'm not going to lie!

You are adored by your brother and sisters. All of them can't get enough of you! They demonstrate it in very different ways. Ava loves carrying you around, mothering you and making you giggle... Heidi just chatters away to you and snuggles up to her "Lowsi" as much as humanly possible... and Jonas? He bundles and clambers over you, burying his head in your tummy and making you laugh, or cry, depending on how rough and tumble he is.

And then there's us, your Mama and Papa, who couldn't love you more if we tried. We thank the Lord every day for bringing you safely to us... eight months down the line and we recognise we have so much to be thankful for. You are truly a delight and a gift to us, and I'm so excited to see more and more of your little personality revealing itself to us!
