Reflections...

All has been a bit quiet on the blog front over the past few days... we had a wonderful time at NWA and then, on the penultimate day, I was hit with some weird illness that made me feel unbelievably weak and achy without feeling fluey. Very odd, but at least it seems to be over now.

How do I sum up last week? It was brilliant. We had a fantastic time hearing amazing truths explained to us from the Bible; I was challenged in so many ways. There were so many highlights, I thought I'd give you my top 5...

1. Thabiti Anyabwile
I think, for me, the one of the biggest highlights was the seminar track Dave and I went to by Thabiti Anyabwile on Church family. I realised, so often, that I am all too happy to use my church as family (they were amazing in providing us with three weeks worth of meals after Heidi was born) but not view them as family (am I prepared to drop everything for a brother or sister in Christ in the same way I would for my blood family?) Really helpful, challenging and accessible stuff!

2. Worshipping in a crowd
I guess its a little taste of heaven, isn't it, to have around 3000 people gathered together in a huge marquee singing God's praises. There is something so very encouraging and uplifting about it. Big thank you to Nate Tasker and Lewis Green for the way they led us throughout the week. Loved this song particularly... Nate performed it one morning. This is him performing the same song, at a different conference...

3. Sports afternoon
On Wednesday afternoon, we had a great time together playing games and just enjoying each others company with some hilarious results... the kids (and adults) had a whale of a time and we laughed away at grown men crawling around playing "crab football". The winning team were worthy and got to enjoy some yummy maoam!

4. Baroness Cox
This woman was SO inspirational, and I blogged about her here...

5. Time with family
