Advent ideas for Kids: Christmas Story Box: Savouring the SeasonLinkyParty 12

One of my favourite advent traditions is our Christmas storybook box... Every year, on the first of December, our storybook box reappears. It is filled up with winter and Christmas books that are stored away for the rest of the year, so it's always a novelty. One new book is added every advent, along with the books inherited from my own childhood and a few we've picked up along the way...

This morning, when the girls come down the stairs, they will be greeted by our little kindness elves reading this years advent book addition...

I love this story... "The Song of the Stars" tells the Christmas story in a beautiful way. Sally Lloyd Jones is a wonderful storyteller and has a brilliant way of drawing you in to even the most familiar of stories... I'm so excited to read this one with the girls!

So please, link up your festive fun and leave a few comments around!

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I love this idea, I've splurged on a few more Christmas books for the boys, not sure who enjoys them more, the boys or me!

  3. This is one of my favourite traditions too although for the first year, I think that all of my children are now too old for the books *sniff*.

  4. I've seen this tradition on a few blogs now, and I want to do it! We have Christmas books, but they're around all year. I like the idea of there being a box full of them, along with DVDs that we get out on 1st December - will definitely be doing it next year, and looking out for a few bargains in January to add to it :)
