However you want to put it, our first night away from our girlies was a success (well... for us, at least... not sure my Mum, who was woken three times in the night by Heidi, would quite agree!) We were greeted upon our return yesterday by two very excited girls. One throwing herself at us full throttle, and the other chuckling, bouncing and kicking those little legs in Nanny's arms!
Yesterday evening we enjoyed some family time! Playing in the playhouse in the sunshine and later on tower-building as the sun began to set. Two girlies happy to be reunited with Mama and Papa, and two parents who probably missed them more than they missed us!
Our weekend was busy! But what a blessing! We were so privileged to serve at the Solent Women's Conference! Supported by our fabulous band (we are seriously privileged to work with some OUTSTANDING musicians), the music went without a hitch and we were able to have some great times, worshiping God in song. It was fantastic to sit under some amazing teaching on Elijah by Jane McNabb and we were able to share some of our Heidi's story from this past year and were reminded again just how faithful God is. When things are good and when things are tough.
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
- God - 2 Corinthians 12:9 -
He is good.
The weekend may not exactly have been a romantic getaway, but at least we now know these Bubbas can cope without Mama and Papa for a weekend!
Watch out Nanny and Grandpa!
Loved having them, they are a delight but a good reminder of how full on and tiring it is for mums with small children xx
