I love picking out my girlies clothes on a Saturday night. Its a funny one really... most of us rock up to church on a Sunday morning in our jeans, a T-shirt and a pair of flip flops. The whole "Sunday best" thing is perhaps dying out. But I still think there's something lovely about dressing my girlies up on a Sunday... pulling out the frills and the pretties and helping them realise there is something a little bit special about a Sunday.
This weekend, after the torrential rain on Saturday morning, it was lovely to pull out the summer dresses ready for a lovely sunny day on Sunday!
What are your Saturday night rituals?
Lovely photos! I always take pleasure in getting my daughter's clothes out too (although usually she prefers to get them herself now she's 8).ReplyDelete
Lovely photos, the colour of the cardigan is gorgeous :) We had a Saturday evening ritual too, it was one of the only times we were all together as a family, as my Dad worked away. We have tried to do a similar thing; Meg and Eli are allowed to stay up a bit later and we'll have an easy dinner and then play games or watch a film or something similar :)ReplyDelete
Lovely picture. I know what you mean about sundays. For me it was the comics to read in bed and mums sunday roast lol. This sunday was special as my first grandson was born lolReplyDelete
Love Sunday's - seems to be the only day we're not clock watching. And nothing beats a Sunday Roast.ReplyDelete
Beautiful photo's I love the dresses and getting them out the night before is so lovely. Must start doing that again for my daughter :) #magicmomentsReplyDelete
This is a lovely post and I think it is special that you pick out a Sunday best outfit, it's a shame that it is dying out because it is nice to put a bit of effort in. I love to dress my girls up, even today they are wearing matching dresses even though we are only went to the garden centre! They have some lovely clothes so it seems a shame not to use them lots. xReplyDelete
Lovely memories of Saturday nights. Blind date was one of mine too!ReplyDelete
This is so lovely. I love getting my little ones all dressed up for church. And myself - it's not often I get the chance!ReplyDelete
Awww cute dresses! Really special looking too. I dont even have a ritual at night. I just tried to finish as much chores so that the next daY i will have less =P #magicmomentsReplyDelete
I think when I wore school uniform I just wanted to be casual on a Sunday, then when I was at uni it was a chance to dress up so we all brought out the pretties, and then with work it went back to casual - now I just aim for clean, but the girls are usually dressed up; they have so many pretty things it would be a shame not to use them (even if they do later get stripped before eating Sunday lunch!!)ReplyDelete
