Feeding the ducks. Playground fun. Walking round parks. Library trips. Age old excursions. They're the things I did as a child, and probably my parents and their parents before them... long before soft play centres or mini playtowns or theme parks. I forget sometimes how easy it is to do something simple with the children. They don't ask for a lot... a playground swing and shiny slide and a few feathered friends will do the trick! And it doesn't need to cost an arm and a leg... in fact, it doesn't even need to cost a penny.
Just ducks on a pond, an old piece of bread and some big blue eyes!
And looking on, a little one. Taking it all in. He's such a sociable little chap this one, and a real people watcher... I guess that's inevitable when you're the youngest of four. He just sits back and takes it all in, usually with an amused little look on his face and a sparkle in his eye.
And I'm reminded that the simple things are the best things. Nature. Wonder. Watching. Friendship. Thankfulness.
Just the things that make my heart sing too.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
This is beautiful Claire, I hope you're having a lovely weekend too. Mich x
